Historic Masonry Restoration Inspection & Proposal Policy

Our expert team at Dominion Traditional Building Group is capable of providing detailed historic preservation assessments, comprehensive scope of work reports, architectural designs and drawings, and compatible material recommendations.

As experts in the field of historic masonry restoration, our estimates contain proprietary knowledge developed by years of experience and specialty training.   If the goal of our client is to document or develop a plan for historic masonry restoration, please view our page on historic masonry consulting.

Please select one of the options below:

1. Free Ballpark Cost Consultation / Estimation:

Client provides DTBG with pictures, documentation of past work and / or relevant architectural / engineering reports of the area in need of masonry restoration. If further questions / pictures are needed, the client will provide those via email to lawrence@traditionalbuilders.net. Once DTBG has sufficient information, we will provide a verbal ballpark cost of the proposed project. A site visit is not included with this option.  Materials and procedures are not disclosed.  This basic consultation is for a ballpark idea of the cost of restoration and is not a guaranteed contract price.  If a client decides to move forward, we will require one of the options below.

2. Site Visit and Inspection: $300 - $650 (depending on location and scope of work)

This option will include one site visit by our estimator or the estimating team for an in-depth inspection of the area requiring masonry restoration. The estimate will include a basic scope of work report, pictures and an estimate for the complete project. If the client decides to move forward with DTBG, a $300 - $650 credit will be applied to the contract total.  Please see the sample site visit and inspection report.

3. Detailed scope of work with one or more site visits: $650 - $5000 (depending on location and scope of work)

Our estimating team will produce a detailed scope of work, pictures, procedures and materials which can then be used as part of a bid package or to obtain additional estimates. This estimate will also be broken down with pricing by section if there are multiple sections or stages to the masonry restoration. If the client decides to move forward with DTBG, a credit in the amount paid will be applied to the contract total.

4. Full House Assessment: TBD (depending on location, the number of elevations to be investigated and developed in a scope of work)

This package is designed for multiple elevations of a building, large sections, and large-scale full structure project.  Our estimating team will produce a detailed investigation and assessment of the building, scaled measured drawings, detailed scope of work, pictures, procedures and materials which can then be used as part of a bid package or to obtain additional estimates. If desired, this assessment will also include an estimate broken down with pricing by section if there are multiple sections or stages to the masonry restoration. If the client decides to move forward with DTBG, a credit in the amount paid will be applied to the contract total.

Estimates are valid for thirty days. Any delays caused by the client may void the thirty-day guarantee and a new estimate may need to be issued. Seasonal changes such as Fall to Winter will require a new estimate if delayed by the owner due to seasonal requirements for historic masonry materials.
